Be your Own Guide

TourBuddy’s The Story of Savannah allows you to see Savannah at your own pace. You can follow the recommended tour route on your map or choose your own route based on the stops that you would like to visit and stories you would like to experience.
You may follow the tour straight through from start to finish (which takes 3-4 hours) or make it into a full day activity and take time between stops to have bite to eat or a drink, to browse some of the many shops and boutiques along the way or visit one of the museums along the tour. Tour Length

The Story of Savannah contains 22 tracks totaling 2 hours of Audio. There are 18 stops that correspond with the tour route on the TourBuddy Map » and 4 tracks that can be enjoyed anywhere. The recommended tour route is 2.3 miles with a scenic walking tour of a little over a mile that you can follow in between stops to visit more beautiful squares and locations in scenic Savannah.

Tour Instructions

Go to stop 1, or the stop that you would like to start with and choose the corresponding stop number on your MP3 player. The footprints on the map will show you the starting location for that stop and will face the first point of interest. As you listen to the stop, follow the audio instructions to locate the other points of interest. Rather than walking around each stop and approaching the different monuments or buildings, you may prefer to find a comfortable bench and enjoy the stories from a distance. When you hear the bell at the end of the stop, pause your player and follow your map to the next stop.

Tour Tips

You may pause your player at any point during a stop to spend a little more time on a point of interest, read a plaque, or just relax under a moss covered tree. You may also rewind to hear a story again or fast forward through something you have already heard.
